AERO Divsion Days Conference, March 30 and 31 on Adapted Movement Activities with Dr. Lauren Lieberman
Hello Professionals Serving Individuals who are Blind or Visually Impaired,
Wondering how to best incorporate movement activities into your work with children, students or young adults who are visually impaired with additional disabilities or who are deafblind? Then read on!
You are cordially invited to attend an exciting professional development conference on Adapted Movement Activities presented by Dr. Lauren Lieberman, professor at The College at Brockport and Director of Camp Abilities in New York. This conference, sponsored by AERO (Association for the Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired – Ohio Chapter) will be held on March 30th and 31st in Central Ohio.
Dr. Lieberman is nationally known for her research and publications on incorporating physical activities into the everyday lives of persons with visual impairments. She will present practical information and ‘hands-on’ activities that may be applied by a wide range of professionals serving persons who are visually impaired with additional disabilities or who are deafblind. Day One (March 30) will focus on School Age Students and Young Adults who are Visually Impaired with Additional Disabilities and Day Two (March 31) will address the needs of Young Children with Visual Impairments and Students and Young Children who are Deafblind. Participants may sign up for one or both days. ACVREP and DD professional development credits will be provided. Seating is limited and there will be no on-site registration. AERO and the American Printing House for the Blind (APH) graciously contributed financially to this event.
